This year our focus is on leadership and self-care. We asked our leadership honorees to tell us how they incorporate self-care into their busy life.
I try to incorporate self-care into my busy life through spending quiet time with God in prayer, walks at the park or around the mall near my home (while listening to music or audio Bible), and participating in weekly Bible Study with a group of God-fearing women. Just sitting around watching TV with my husband is another way I like to unwind and not think about work or the cares of life. They say laughter is good for your mind, body, and soul, and I also love spending time with my sisters, BFF, and my other close sister friends and aunts. They usually make me laugh, relax, and gain another perspective on the things in life that may be causing me stress.
