  1. Hello Ola,
I would like to nominate Pastor Ella Rawlings for the 2024 Onxy Woman Award. Pastor Ella serve as a pastor for the seniors in the K Leroy Irvis Building in The Hill and has served in this capacity for almost two decades. She provides, Sunday worship services, hospital visitation, holiday celebrations and special outings for the seniors she serves. She also supports the families with funeral and Memorial Services when someone passes.

Ella Rawlings was also the first female Principal at the Wilkingburg Jr/Sr High School, paving the way for other women to take other leadership roles. She
was a part of a team of educators and leaders who began an annual College tour for underserved youth in the Wilkinsburg and surrounding communities.

Pastor Ella Rawlings is a person of principle, compassion and perseverance. She never gives up and encourages all work know her to press on. In her role with MADDADs, she is the Vice President of outreach. She has initiated a scholarship fund for students in underserved communities and successfully leads and annual Scholarship event to generate funds. These are just a few of the motivating my amazing friend Pastor Ella Rawlings has successfully pursued!

  2. I would like to nominate Angel Ivey for the 2024 Onyx Woman Award. Since 2008 Angel has moved from Coldwell Bankers Real Estate Corporation to a realtors sales associate at Northwood Realty Services in 2017, to a Real Estate broker Associate at Berkshire Hathaway Home Services in 2017, RAMP Realtor Association Metropolitan of Pittsburgh, where she was featured on the cover of Realtors Magazine as the first African American female relator to fight for equality and better real estate opportunities for African Americans in Pittsburgh in 2018. During this same year, she became the managing realtor of Berkshires Murray Ave offices. There she managed more than 20 other realtors from newly certified to seasoned realtors. In 2023, Berkshire Hathaway Home Services promoted her to Regional Property Manager with the PPMC program. Angel studied Hospitality-Management at Sawyer Business School.

Talk about a woman who loves everybody and takes pride in loving people. This is her! Her phone voicemail answers, “Hi! You have reached the Angel in real estate…” To know her is to confirm this truth. She truly is an Angel.

  3. I would like to nominate Dr. Latika Davis Jones. She is the first African American female Madame Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Drugs and Alcohol Programs. Graduate of the HBCU Central State University where she pursued her Master’s and Doctorate. She later became a part of the PA Cabinet. She was recently sworn in by Governor Shapiro at the Harrisburg office in June.

She is a kind, patient, honest, encourager, forgiving, and thankful woman. Wife and mother of two young adult college-age students. Dr. Jones inspires women in the city of Pittsburgh and now has the opportunity to inspire women in PA and other states. She is driven in her career, but not so much so that she forgets that all people deserve love and respect. Her voice at the table for Drug and Alcohol in the state of PA will bring change because she is and has always personally and professionally been an agent for change
