Travel is on the rise. Music festivals and concerts are on and popping as we begin to get back to “normal.” After being housebound for the past two summers, we are eager to step out and show off our stylish ways.

YSW wants to avoid you getting stuck in a summer-style rut. A great summer ensemble starts with a few key basics that can be mixed and matched to create endless looks. Summer ensembles should have a few key pieces every sassy, stylish woman should own.

They are versatile, stylish, and well suited for various occasions, whether you’re headed to the beach or out for a night on the town.

Trends can come and go, but classics are timeless, versatile, and functional. You do not have to go out and buy a whole new seasonal wardrobe. Here are our suggestions:

1

Straw Fedora Hat

In addition to blocking out the sun and saving you from bad hair days, these hats are also super stylish. Whether you wear them casually with jeans or use them to dress up a simple ensemble, a fedora hat is an attention-grabber. These hats simply never go out of style.

2

Anything White Linen

One of my very favorite things to wear in hot climates is anything in white linen. Is there a fabric more comfortable for hot sizzling summer days? It could be a top, pants, or flowing dress; nothing says summer style like crisp white linen.

You will not be rushed into choosing just anything for that all-white event if you plan ahead.

White linen seems to stand out and compliments any complexion. For the young or old, linen should be a summer wardrobe staple. I have so much white linen that I have a separate storage box to store my collection.

To prevent white from appearing see-through, layer it under a tank top or bra that is a nude color.

Take advantage of the cool comfort of white linen clothing during the summer months and avoid feeling hot and sticky.

3

Converse or Converse-like

I have two
pairs of Converse shoes and three pairs of Converse-like. Converse-like are the look-alikes.

If you are on the run and you still want to bring some casual style to your sporty look, a pair of converse or converse-like shoes add a touch of flavor to what could otherwise be just another casual look.

They’re perfect for days you want to look pulled together but still feel comfortable while on the run or attending a casual outdoor affair.

4

Big Round Earrings

Make a bold and sassy entrance. There is something about the woman who shows up in a pair of earrings as large as her bracelet. Whether you wear your tapered fro, your big wild curly do, or your favorite hat, these earrings are a style statement.

It is easy to make a look pop with big hoop earrings.

5

Skinny Leg Jeans

I read an article that stated that skinny-leg jeans were going out of style. Apparently, I did not get the memo because I just purchased three more pairs.

Whether you wear them under a blazer, tank top, or duster, a pair of skinny-leg jeans are what you need to pull together an easy street style.

A lightweight blazer is the perfect addition to these basic jeans on cooler evenings or in air-conditioned offices. Jeans will always be versatile and classic no matter what other styles come and go.

6

Cross Body Bag

Every woman needs a great go-to bag. Add some flair and style to your summer outfit with a cross-body pouch. My favorite thing about a cross-body bag is that it can be worn with any outfit.

Secondly, I like the fact that my hands are free.

We have been giving these cross-body bags to our leadership honorees for years. We got so many requests for these stylish must-haves that we decided to add them to our Your Stylish Ways accessory brand.

Starting in July, we will offer an introductory special for $18.00. Click on the link to purchase yours in black, red, or pink.

7

Aviator Sun Glasses

If you purchase one pair of sunglasses this summer, opt for a pair of aviator glasses. Aviators are those inexpensive yet stylish accessories that can add that extra chic look. Regardless of your face shape, these glasses add elevated style to any look.

So there you have it: seven summer wardrobe essentials. These key pieces will keep you prepared for whatever the season brings.
