Onyx Woman Leadership Award

I get excited about helping others; specifically women and girls. I wanted to go down other paths, but serving others is my passion.
This profession helped me realize my desire to help women succeed in life. For that reason, I have decided to begin the process of launching a non-profit that focuses on empowering women to reach their goals.
My current job connects my passion for the arts with my interests in education and working with young people.
’ve been blessed with the honor and opportunity to have strong women guiding me through my journey in life. These women, who I consider my board of directors (particularly my mother, who is currently 90 years old), have laid the foundation by instilling in me the confidence and spirit of perseverance needed to stay focused on the goal(s) I’ve set for myself and not being distracted by the naysayers.
Being selected to receive the Onyx Woman Leadership Award means the world to me because of the organizations’ strong legacy of support and empowerment for women of color by Visionary, Ola Jackson.

I've grown so much personally over the years. I've learned the importance of managing your mindset and trusting the process on my journey. This has allowed me to expand my reach and impact by taking risksthat have paid dividends.
