See How She Does It!

Dionna Rojas-Orta

Title: Independent Wellness Advocate

Company: doTERRA

Founded in 2008, doTERRA was built on the mission of sharing the highest quality essential oils with the world. Having seen for themselves the incredible benefits that can be had from using these precious resources, a group of healthcare and business professionals set out to make this mission a reality. They formed a company and named it doTERRA, a Latin derivative meaning, “Gift of the Earth.”

Dionna Rojas-Orta wants to share that experience with you on your journey to self-care. As a self-care advocate, she is ready to guide her clients on a journey by educating them on the benefits of essential oils and healthy living products to their well-being.

  1. Why did you decide to get into the self-care business?

I decided to get into self-care business because I wanted to share the lessons I am learning about wellness.

2. What was it about doTerra that attracted you?

I tried doTerra because I needed a good multivitamin. I decided to try their Lifelong Vitality pack, and after a month, not only did I feel more energized and focused, my family noticed the difference in me, as well.

3. How does this venture fit into your busy life as a mom, wife, and grandma?

doTerra is part of the wellness/self-care journey for my whole family. I like the family probiotics and vitamins for each family member, as well as oils that can be diffused or ingested to help with chronic conditions.

4. What would you advise other women to do about self-care?

I would advise them to think of their self-care as a wellness journey, and if you think about wellness as a wheel with 8 spokes and the 8 spokes are 8 different areas of your life you would like to improve on, reach out to someone like myself to have a discussion on how taking care of your physical body should be the foundation of proactively taking care of you. Supplements and oils can help with emotional balance, physical health, among other areas.

5. What advice would you give to other women who may want to get into this business?

I would tell them to go for it. It is a business where the most investment that you will make early on is…time. doTerra is about sharing. Sharing your story and experience with doTerra wellness products and how it has been helpful to you and your family and friends. If they are interested, they can reach out to me on my website or via my email –

6. What motivates you to stay focused and make this venture work?

What motivates me to stay focused is my desire to live my best life while being an example to other African-American mothers, wives, and daughters. Because we are often victims of healthcare disparities, this opportunity also serves as a way for me to spread the love and knowledge about a product that can help us reverse the disparities for some of our health concerns, while also giving me the opportunity to work on another spoke on the wellness wheel, which is financial.
