In high school I became hooked on fashion magazines which lead to my interest in the possibility of being a department store buyer.

I spent a couple of years going to business school for retail before heading off to college. During those years I spent some time working in department stores. I also learned a lot about fabrics, coordinating and working with the appropriate silhouettes for certain body types. A few years later I began modeling petite fashions.
The combination of my education and work experience helped me develop my own personal style.
I love educating others about creating a style wardrobe on a budget. I spent a few years teaching courses at job training centers and colleges about workplace transition and the importance of dressing appropriately.

When I started shopping consignment stores and thrift shops I could not believe the high quality items I purchased. I was so excited that I wanted to share that information with others, which is why I started the column in Onyx Woman magazine called Your Stylish Ways which has lead to video series by the same name.
Because my business always had an interest in teaching women about saving women money, this information fits right in with our mission. Saving money and looking good…what a great combination!
